About

Madeline is the founder of her eponymous firm, Madeline Polan, a full-service residential interior design firm based in Greenwich, CT. Madeline’s style is a reflection of her southern roots and her time spent living in Manhattan as a young professional. By combining new pieces with antiques from various time periods, Madeline creates layered rooms that are classic and traditional, but with a twist. Each space is enhanced by Madeline’s love of lighting (and a patterned lampshade!) and art, creating spaces that are as beautiful as they are livable, and a representation of each unique client’s personality and lifestyle.

Madeline is originally from Atlanta, GA, where she first explored her love of design interning at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. Madeline graduated from Elon University with a degree in Accounting, which she cultivated during her nine year career in consulting and financial services in New York City, prior to pivoting to a career in interior design. Madeline has completed several courses at the New York School of Interior Design, and gained valuable experience working for interior designer LeeLee Duryea (West Hartford, CT). Madeline’s unique background and combination of skills allow her to not only create beautiful spaces for her clients, but to leverage her experience in consulting, project management, and accounting to successfully manage contractors, vendors, budgets and timelines.

Current residential projects include: a gut renovation in an Upper East Side Co-op; a main-floor extension to a colonial home in Greenwich, CT; a newlywed’s first home in Charleston, SC; and her own home in Greenwich, CT, where she lives with her husband and miniature dachshund, Welly.
